Progam Maker Available?

Any know if there's a program maker available for the 1000 yet? You know like how the previous mpc's have program makers that you can do from your pc: [heres the links for those who need it].

i think someones workin on one for the 1000 right now.

Exporting MPC Editor programs for use on 2000xl, they will still be importable on the 1000. I believe panning, filters, etc will be lost, but you can't check these settings on the computer anyhow.

One thing I've noticed, I doubt it's related to the Editor, is that many one shot sounds I've imported to the 1000 have an annoying click sound at the end, and this is due to a full-sample-length loop being set and turned on. When I disable the loop on the sample, the click goes away.

Anybody knows how to remedy this, get at me!

Thanx tank for the heads up, i forgot that the 1000 reads .PGM from the 2000xl, all u gotta do is make sure the samples are waves.

As for the clicking, i dunno if this applies to u, but someone else hear had that same problem, and another forum member suggested learning about "zero crossing points". Wish i could elaborate but i dont know too much bout that subject...hope this helps...p

Thanks for the reply, but this looping deal is for one-shots, and zero crossing is for sounds you intend to loop forever, either phrases or looped notes like an infinite bass, etc.

These loop points were not set by me and were instead set by some program, perhaps an automated process I ran them through.

Hey, since I got a reply that fast, anyone know of a workaround on the 1000 similar to Track velocity on older units? I hate to keep adjusting sounds in the mixer when I'd like them to be different volumes on different tracks and sequences. If this has already been covered in an older post, link me! I've been lookin!

it's just a beta of the pgm maker.

is the program maker made by akai, or the same guy that made the mpcpgmMaker 1.06? Akai really should develop something like this that is solid. MpcPgmMaker is horrible only 1/3 of the samples actually tranfer to the pads on the mpc. Anyone know of any other options?

is there really an 8 character limit on file names? i just looked thru the autoload folder and it seems nothing has a file name longer than 8 characters (excluding the ".WAV")

yes if you want the mp to reconize it you got to use 8 or less......if u are creating a program via mpc editor or any other that u may use.....the mpc it self will not see anything with more than 8 and will give u a screen that says cant find xxxxxx~1 (x's represent the first 8 of the name)

This only applies to transferring files from a computer to the MPC60/3000/2000/XL, not the MPC1000.

Down loaded from this address for my 1000 & it works. I had the same problem with clicks at the end of my sample, now I just trim them. Also discovered that samples transfer only if 8 characters or less B4 .wav. Wish it could do a little more - e.g. like layering samples on one pad

You can see page 60 of your manual - go into the SAMPLE page of the PROGRAM mode -

Select your pad - assign the samples to the 1, 2, 3, and 4 fields - adjust your levels accordingly

Adonis - I meant on the Program maker software not the MPC itself. Cheers anyway mate!
