the main part drops at 1:01 and just loops from there for a bit...left it long for the mcs ive been workin w/ i dont really like long instr..

the mix is doo-doo of course,im not really getting the hang of a good mix on different playback systems yet..the beat goes through some changes..just usin the chopping w/ vel(16lev.) and the note variation slider to get some different sounds from the 60.. dont take it too serious, just wanted to keep it recent in here..consider this a live take...feedback is welcome rain or shine..

Yo the volume is super low on that shit I can't even hear it.

you should meter properly when you record to pc.
Getting a signal to close under 0db is the way.
Make sure you leave some headroom for compression and limiting otherwise your signal will sound squashed.

Good plugs for getting a decent loudness are waves C4 / L2 / RVox.
I use those daily.

1. in my busted lab i run the 60 sounds through two(both)channels of my vestax pmc-05proII. one channel drums w/ the eq tweaked heavy bass and low high, the other channel the sample chops eqed however is needed. usually that means more bass less treble..i do know alittle bit about keeping things in different freq. w/ bass so it doesnt get washed out but i only know what i hear..then it goes out to one halfassed m-audio monitor that im pretending isnt broken. i get the beat sounding good enough there to take it to the other spot to record..

2. over at the other spot it goes out to a behringer board one chanenl drums, one chanenl sample chops. it goes then to home studio in the pc.
now, i can only blame the behringer so much right? i have these drum samples that are too soft so i have to put the 60 on blast and try not to clip the behringer? i think i need my own submixer..motorized faders or somethignso I can have programmable settings.. the monitors here are alesis i cant remeber which but they connect to the computer so you can tune the sound..in the studio it sounds pretty good usually...sometimes my busted set-up sounds a little bit better..
so im in the studio bumpin this beat and it sounds allright.. i take the cd home, pop it in the pc to post on here and sh!t!! quiet, muddy, ddodoo..
maybe the monitors arent accurate? it sounds good and then goes to a whisper?

Yeah, I compressed it and it sounds different since the kick was sitting so high in the mix to begin with. I think it kinda got mashed in the process. It's hard to pump everything else up to a listenable level when the kick is hitting at 10 yet the melody is at like a 2 or 3, yknow?

yea other than the kick being so distorted its real nice
