i don't know how people are gonna react to this but... i want to know what records are the favorites for sampling. also, with all the new reissues of classic platters that are out, do these reissues hold their value when used in a beat? i would think not but still i abuse a copy (reissue) of the death wish soundtrack by Herbie Hancock. if you can't hear the samples on every turn of this record then well....this is old news though. what are the new gems? i am not looking for handouts i dig hard i just want to see what the rest of you find to be the "classics".
now time to use your imagination. can a track that isn't played live and has no samples be hip hop? i know there are cds in the hip hop bins but are made on a computer or whatever else. where does it stand if you made a track using samples that sounded very similar to a keyboard/computer track? which track gets more respect?
whats up with a battle only using the same track of one record for the whole beat? i want to see different styles with the same sounds. these battles are happening on this site right now probably but i want to start something new. any ideas? how to post the track to be sampled? i can't post sounds yet.
i don't want to stir anything up i just needed to breathe some more life into subject of sample theory(?) as it is positively a huge part of what you do if you are reading this.
peace
