yo i been workin on something like this with my crew. We're trying to break out of the standard hip hop format by adding a live/jam element to our set. I rock my 4000 on one channel of my dj mixer and a cdj800 (looping jazz breaks or solos and atmosphere sounds, some dub as well) on the other channel. Also running effects through a pioneer efx500. My homie rocks his tt's also equipped with final scratch 2. Throw a roland (or boss?) 505 and laptop w/ mpd16 as the controller in there as well. 2emcees and live drummer/ percussion in the mix.

We rock our songs but also do live remixing w/ freestylin over some of it. Tryin to get or shyt tight for a live set. We've got enough material we're just gettin it locked down

By chance I been thinking about using the MPC live today. I did a funk 45 DJ set on Xmas eve which went down real well. I think it would be ill to do some shit with the MPC live. I agree about the 2 decks and a mixer format is too boring and has been for a while. I want to see fools doing live remixes and jams and shit.

I got a MPC60 Mk2, MPC3000LE and a 2000XL but would probably use the 2KXL live as that would be the easiest and cheapest to replace if anything happened to it. Plus it also reads most of the other 2 MPCs files so thats good too. I got a Rane TTM 56 DJ mixer but I'm weighing up getting an Allen and Heath Xone 02 to use live:

so the Rane don't get bosted but also because the Xone is like a 4 channel mixer with the additonal gain knobs for line inputs. Effectively there is no line switches just a volume knob for the respective line inputs for each channel as you can see on this (much larger) picture:

Not too sure how EQ and Panning integrates with it all, will have to research the manual
