Can I transfer data from my CF card to Hard Drive?

...via the MPC1000. Meaning, can I do it all within the unit.

OR

Do I have to take the CF out, put it in a card reader with my Mac, connect the MPC's USB to my Mac, and drop and drag from CF to the MPC's Hard Drive?

Will the drive show up on my computer when the MPC is hooked up via USB??

I just want to transfer all of my sequences and programs from the 2GB CF I've been using for nearly 2 years, and place it on my Hard Drive that I'm about to install. (HDM10 should be here anyday now, already have the drive)

you can do this a couple of ways. you can leace the card in the mpc and load what you want transferred into memory from the cf card and then save to the hard drive or you can do as you suggested, bring your card over to the computer's reader and connect the mpc via usb then transfer from the card over to the hard drive (via usb).

your hard drive would show up on your computer when the mpc is hooked up via usb just as your CF card would.

but when transferring large amount of files, i would do it the way you suggested because if not, you will only be working with about 120 mbs at a time.

I feel ya, a move folder or file feature within the o.s. would be nice.
