Thank you so much Krisk-One! I've been scratching my head about that for days :)

Yeah, I'm getting weird similar problems with my CF card... so are a lot of other people... a few times I saw ONLY the root folder (as if all my song folders were gone). I'm trying to nail down the specific problem, but in the mean time here's a quick fix:

To "refresh" the directory display when this happens, go back to the main LOAD or SAVE screen, and change the LOAD FROM or SAVE TO field to INTERNAL MEMORY, then back to MEMORY CARD, then your directories should display correctly.

Please don't chastise me if this has already been posted (I used the search and didn't see it). Is there a .pdf of the OS2.1 manual for download? I didn't see one on the akai site (just release notes), and I remeber Sparq posting the cover before the OS came out, but AKAI asked him to not make it available. Has anybody posted it? This would help alot.

Great OS. Still, one thing I really miss is a mono <-> stereo convert. With this, I wouldn't have to use a PC at all (or have to record L and R channel separately). It'd be great if you could do slicing with stereo samples, but you can still do it the old way. Had a bug the other day when I tried to play back a seq. Sounded like a really fast snare roll, after stopping/starting several times it was gone. Also experienced the directory error, the slow trim with long samples and the CPU Address error (when I tried to convert a song to a seq), but I'ma try resetting now, maybe that will do.
Peace

Nope. Did the reset, still got the Dir error and the slow trim.
Another nice feature I think would be if you could save a pitched (NOT pitch shifted) sample without having to resample.
Peace

I had the same problem...thought I'd somehow deleted everything for a minute!

Also, I created a few sequences the other night, involving some of my samples being played at different pitch (using 'tune' on the q link sliders). All was sounding good, so I saved it all the the CF card . The next day, I loaded up all my programs and sequences, pressed play, and it all sounded wrong - as if it hadn't recorded the change in tune. It had recorded the sample being triggered, but only in the original pitch/tune. So i now have to redo a lot of the tracks where this happened, very annoying. This didn't happen before upgrading.

Also, like others, I'm finding it hard work scrolling through hundreds of samples to build programs on the mpc, the new ones are always at the end. Maybe there could be an option to list them with the newest samples first, so then we could do everything easier within the box, rather than having to create programs on the computer.

Final point - I don't really understand why the default sample volume has now been changed to now 100, they should've kept it at 70.

Oh man , another bug.
Somehow i think akai released this os early and buggy to get rid of all the angry e-mails.

I used a Lowpass filter ( the first one) with Freq=0 and Reso=77
Then i used a filter enveloppe on that with Time=15 and amount=+50

I used this on a sample used for a 1/16th hihat at +08 pitch with "one shot" mode.

Now when i press play it plays untill the second beat and then the sound dies.
When i press stop i get a click or pop a few seconds later and the sound is back.

I'll upload an audio file to give you an idea.

You can also hear the bug i previously encountered with the amp enveloppe , first you hear this bug with a silence and then the pops.
Then you hear the kick played normal and then the kick with attack 50 and decay 100.

Damn , i think my mpc is definitly fcked up by this new os.

I just updated my mpc. I have to do a liveshow with it on saterday. Reading this topic, I guess I should really check everything or maybe I just better use 1.07 that day. I'm only looping a lot of samples. No fx or any other things.
I hope all levels are still the same.

then you should be good with the update. but yeah, check everything anyway. if the levels are not the same, just adjust them and re save them.
