kingquota wrote:now my question is, can you paint over a clear coat? does anyone know?

yes you can, just make sure you roughen the surface first, and also degrease it as well, as any finger marks may repel the paint.

theres no need to primer

and why would you clear coat before you paint

and if you do , you will have riples in your paint and it will be textury

dont do it

just paint it over top of the red

if you want aglossy finish , use aclear coat at the end

i dont suggest a clear coat at the end - thats just me

use auto paint if you want aglossy finish

or a flat basic spray paint if you dont

I didnt know a thing about painting when I did it the first time - but now I know quite a bit.- it was agood learning expierience.

I dont suggest painting it.

I bought a new blue top panel. not that I dont like the paint job I have now - I just need a back up incase If I have to send my 1k to akai for repairs - so they dont void my warranty.

since Im going to have an extra.
Im going to take this red one and really take my time and redo it once more. its going to be the FUKKIN SCHIT. just wait.

why does everyone always hate on my boy hypes? he's trying to improve the look of his mpc, to HIS liking. and just like producing, you get better as you go along. if he wants to paint his with a tie-dye motif, that's his choice.

yo hypes, do your thing dawg! 8) 8)
