My (uneducated) guess is that it wont work, but I thought maybe someone has tried it successfully, so I dont have to order it, waiting much longer and probably gettin it at a more expensive price..

it should work, it'll just run slower than it's designed speed, though as with the PC133 modules not all will work. I'm pretty sure that ddr and ddr2 won't work.

thanks for the help, Mr modnaR, I think I'll give it a try, I'll just take the mpc to the shop and see if they let me test it in there.

I personally have had good success with a Sandisk 1 gig. CFC card, I haven't started to fill it all up as yet but I am working on it.

it is possibly that the Kingston CF 1gig works slowly than the Kingston CF 512mb ?

well all i can say is that all of my cards are sandisk with the exception of 1 which is kingston. i've never had a problem with any of my cards.

do a search, this was brought up before.

the mpc 1000 uses a FAT16 file format system. FAT16 can only support up to 2GB

Now that OS 2.10 is a FAT32 file system, I'm sure that it should be able to support CF cards larger than 2gb. Does anyone else here have a card with a higher capacity than 2gb to test out? All I have is a 256mb and I don't need another CF card.

LOL damn D, where did you dig that up from? i would test it but the largest card i have is a 2gb. and since the addition of the hard drive, i don't plan on buying anymore CF cards. for the price of a 4gb CF card, i could buy 2 100gb hard laptop drives

I wouldnt spend the money on a 4gb card either. But if nightvoyager or anyone else uses CF cards larger than 2gb (for digital cameras, etc.) would like to test it out, I'm sure that it would benefit those who don't have a hard drive or those who want to back up their hard drives with a larger CF card and a USB 2.0 card reader.

As for me, I dont mind using the USB cable with my hard drive. Backing up projects frequently isn't as time consuming. Transferring nearly 2gb of samples from my PC directly to my MPC the other night wasn't so bad either.

Just waiting for my 1GB Kingston CF card. (only £37 including postage from http://www.flash-memory.co.uk )
(the full URL won't parse due to brackets -its easy enough to find though)

I'm still curious why the 16mb internal ram seems to be bypassd when you put the upgrade in. Surely you should have 144mb (128+16) not just 128. Doesn't really make that much difference, its just a bit strange.

The same thing happens when you upgrade the memory on all the other MPCs. When I upgraded my friend's 2000 back in the day, we noticed the same thing.
