So I'm reading through my instruction manual as far as how to load samples up and play programs. OK so I followed the instructions and everything's loaded up my part settings are correct and everything but I'm not hearing anything on any of the programs I loaded up. When i touch the pads I hear Nada. and on the pad assign page when i touch the pads it goes to what it's supposed to so the pads are working. I got it used so there are plenty of samples in there. I know it's not an audio problem because when I demo'd the sequencer the clicks are clear and loud. I'm lost as the settings are all like the instruction manual says(Out 1 = part and part 1 is assigned to a program/sample). Any suggestions?

You have to assign your samples to a keygroup to hear them...

ok thanks. I don't know how to do that yet. So if you could tell me tht would be great if it's too lengthy though I'm sure it's in the manual and I'll figure out how. I appreciate that. Also do you have to do that to programs as well?

dont feel bad man i did the same thing.(i got my 4000 last week.)i loaded up some songs off zip drive (that i did on my 2000xl) and couldnt hear nothin'
what i did what use the cursor and scroll down to where it says "program 1"
you will need to change this by moving the jog wheel to the left.this will bring up the "program list" page.you then select the correct program.

let me know if this works.good luck!

Oh that's what you ment by assign it to a keygroup. Yeah I did that already. still nothing. Hmmm. Now I'm worried. Becasue on the part I can see the sample I selected on the "main" page. It just doesn't make a sound.

na i didnt assign it to a key group.its in the "drum" mode.but your programs may not be playing.(at least thats what it sounds like to me)
where are you loading the sounds up from?
did you have an mpc before?if so,what kind?
are the bpm's on the main page correct?
are all the names of your sequences, tracks, etc correct?

I'm brand spankin new at this and never owned an MPC before. Just a Fantom and a Motif so I know a little about sequencers but not much else.

I've tried loading programs and samples and nothing works. Oh yeah liek I said I got this second hand so all the samples and programs on here are the last guy's stuff. I'm loading the stuff from the internal drive. As far as being able to tell if the bpm's seq tracks etc are correct. They're all jsut on the first one i.e. Sequence one track one etc. and they don't say unused liek they did before i assigned the program to it. THen when I look at the track it has the program i assigned to it in there and highlighted so everything looks to be in order from what i can tell. Just no sound.

Ok made a little bit of progress as I can hear the sounds in the sample section but still can't do a thing on the main page. And I have to be in the region page actually looking at the wavelength.

try sampling something into the machine yourself.or laoding a wav sound from a sample cd and see what happens.

Whattup Tic.

Don't have any sample CD's at my crib and it wouldn't work just through my USB. So i guess I need an interface for it to get samples of my PC. Got a splitting headache from this shit

Yeah, I just sat down and tried to **** with it for the first time today, without much luck. I'm still trying to load and assign all the sounds from the disk they give you.
