Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

I have my mpc2000xl hooked up to reason2.5 via midi. When I load a device it plays fine. When I load a second device. My mpc2000xl plays the sounds from the first device as well as the new one. How do I isolate play back and record to the intended device?

Set it up the way he explained above. Now, in the sequencerlanes, make sure midi recording is only enabled for the track with the device you want to record at the time. Its the little midi logo with a red dot next to it. If you are hearing the redrum when you are playing another device, maybe the redrum's sequencer track is set to receive midi. Try that and let me know if it works.

I don't know what's meant by sequencerlanes or the little midi logo with a red dot next to it or if that's even the solution. Help

thanks

on the MIDI in device in reason each device you want to run needs its
own MIDI channell(ie redrum on MIDI channell 1 , NNXT on MIDI channell 2)
then in the sequencer be sure that you dont have any tracks armed to record or have the MIDI on.. on any track .. remeber your only useing
reason for the sounds not the sequencer .. so if you have any tracks armed
youll hear the double sounds you refered too...
ON the MPC be sure to have it set to the appropriate MIDI channell
as well (ie 1a or 2b or what have you) to control the reason MIDI channell
that should get you right

hope this helps out

I've followed those steps. The MPC2000xl still takes the first recorded sequence and applies it to every other channel. How do you isolate play back just for the specific channel?

thanks

make sure to change track / midi channell on the MPC
