i haven't been following the bug list for the 2500 since for the most part..its been all good since i got the 2500 (and my beats sound better if i say so myself)...

but i got an issue that i've noticed that has just started happening today..sometimes when i'm playing/recording any of the pads on the lowest row (a1 to a4), the other pads beside them will trigger as well..and sometimes, in step edit for example, if i trigger say a2, there will also be notes recorded for a1, a3 and a4 at a velocity of 1 (mostly).

Has anyone else gotten this as well?

I get that "wrong file"error sometimes when I load a program or a sequence from the hard drive. Lucky I keep a copy of the original program but the sequence thing screwed me a couple of times. AND I KNOW IM LOADING THEM AND SAVING THEM CORRECTLY. Lost a couple of good sequences because of that.

yo mates i get the same WRONG FILE garbage quite often. Horrible software development & sh!tty response time to correct a fatal OS.

Just keep cluttering their email boxes...otherwise it may be many moons before we get what we deserve as loyal customers.

I wouldn't be as pissed as some of you other cats but i too have lost many bangin' sequences!

I love my MPC but fvck akai software geeks!

I get the same error as BDRAKE. I used MPC Pad 187 to create the program if that helps any. The other PGMs I can load fine.

Maybe I am not using my MPC as much because I have never had the issues you are reporting..especially the wrong file bug.

I am pissed that there hasn't been an OS update yet...but it is coming. As I stated in another thread..I think Akai is waiting for Pittsburgh's Super Bowl Victory Celebration to release this new OS.

Count me as another that gets the Wrong File bug. It happens all the time.

yo that wrong file bug is FAR worse than that 'nearby pad' bug i mentioned when i posted the thread..

i been tryin to find workarounds (since that beat i had goin was a real BANGER..haha.) but the same error shows up even when i copy it to a compact flash card..sh*t came up out of nowhere...

its issues like this that makes me wanna throw the machine out the window for real...but the 2500 has features that are SO dope.

Hmmmm...my MPC 2500 has issues but this is not one of them.

What type of files are you guys having problems with? Can you reproduce these errors? Or is it random? What hard drives and memory are you guys using?

By mrnymms Thu Feb 02, 2006 1:06 am
aLL the wrong files issues have been people with a hard drive i believe. I am not running a hard drive and i haven't had any problems. Are all the people in question with problems are u guys running hard drives?

I have the Toshiba drive that is on Akai's approved list. I ran into this problem when I transferred wav files from my PC to 2500 vis USB. I discovered that these files were not 16bit/44.1khz wav samples..which is the reason why they didn't load correctly. As far as sampling and saving my own seq/files/pgms...and reloading them...no problem so far...

I must not be using mine as much either because i have only run into the WRONG FILE error once. And as far as that problem with the pads and all that ish in step edit... haven't seen it (yet) but I rarely use the step edit function. I'll check it out tonight and post my findings.
