If u save 2 internal memory,do u lose all factory samples?

Hello all!

I've read the manual page 84 and tried doing a search, but could still not find a clear answer.

I've got an MPC 1000 with the additional internal 128 memory.

I just recorded some guitar and other samples and tried saving it to my CF card but it's full. So I'd like to save what I've got to my internal memory. So here's where I'm scared. It says in the manual that if you save the data to the internal memory, the new data will overwrite the factory data.

Does that mean I'll lose all the samples that came with the MPC1000 and the additional internal memory such as the 808, gong, puppy, etc... Or will it still be there?

Thanks again in advance and sorry if this has been covered (which I'm sure it has) but try doing a search with "save saving sequences" and pretty much almost every post has those words.

Oh, and if anybody else would like to share how they usually save and for what situation, it would be much appreciated. Okay, gotta go take a leak...

yes, you will loose all the internal memory sounds... but you can download them from the AKAI website if you want em again.

I could've swore there was a way to save everything so that you could just go back the next day and power up and it would be right where you left off. I guess I was wrong.

There is... when you select SAVE ENTIRE MEMORY... and go to save it, there will be an option "AUTOLOAD" that you can press to make it so the next time you power up it will load up everything just as it is when you saved. It still has to save it to the CF card (or hard drive) though.

Thanks again for the tip! I tried doing that but it says in the manual that there is a 5 mb limit when saving all programs and samples. How do I delete all the samples that came with the Akai to make room for my own shet?

dude fu( the internal memory, save the autoload to the memory card or hard drive...............chaa sorry this is getting annoying.
