can anyone tell me what kind of turntable Just blaze is using in that Smack video where he makes that beat on the 4000. I want to implement scratching into my production but I have a bullshit gemini turntable and no fader. His turntable looked like it had a fader or a line switch on it.

it was called a QFO made by Vestax and DJ Q-bert together

I will warn u that table is expensive$$$$ somewhere around $1000 for one table

Just get yourself some PDX 2000s like mine. You can treat em a bit more heavy handed than you can Technics

Very true Jac, but you can be heavy handed with the Vestax. Plus you've got reverse, lots of pitch variation (+ -50), on the fly start and stop speeds and other features on the new model. Coupled with a pair of butter rugs, some Shure M447s and a decent scratch mixer, they're much better for scratching with in my opinion.

Couldn't comment on the QFO, not used em. They look cool though.

Real DJ's Only Use The 1200

What is great about that Q Bert video is his sense of timing. He lets the beat play & then catches it & scratches at half the tempo perfectly.

Too many turntablists just seem to interrupt a beat with out-of-time tricks, like beat juggling for just a couple of seconds at one tempo & then doing something else completely unrelated. It might look clever but it doesn't sound it.
