i dont know about your pdx2000, but my 2300mkIIpro is kinda janky as far as the platter goes. for some reason, the way its mounted around the spindle, the platter kinda rocks (not in a good way) if you ever take your hand off the record and put it back on with any force applied.
not sure if this is the same for the 2000's, but i can be a lot more heavy-handed with my 1200s.

Nah, my PDX's don't do that. I did have to send em back to Vestax for a software upgrade and new motors though. apparently the first batch had the same problem I had which was like a rumble which sent it's way down the tone arm and out the speakers.

That's one thing about the Technics. They've stood the test of time. Vestax are relatively new in comparison.

Contact Vestax. They fixed mine out of warranty free of charge.

i know the first batch of 2000's had a different platter rumble issue that was addressed by vestax, however, what i'm talkin about is different. vestax actually told me that this is a part of the design, and how its supposed to be
but the platter moves enough vertically to actually make my needle jump even with the ASTS tonearm. granted im pretty heavy-handed, but it shouldnt be that sensitive. i've just learned to leave my hand on the record pretty much all the time, which is good for practice anyways...leads to more record control, but sometimes you just gotta throw it and let the sample play...all -50 pitch and sh-t. i mean thats what i wanted the damn table in the first place for: more pitch control.

<end rant, sorta>

anyways, just wondering. i really wish i had gone with a numark ttx or tt500. at the time though i just assumed the build quality of the vestax would be finer...i was wrong.
