As far as Rompler vs Sampler vs Analog synths vs software synth...this is a real waste of energy debating (but I have nothing to do anyway). I will always be a hardware guy first. There is nothing like a dedicate unit that serves a purpose.

I never factor in costs for these items since they are all pretty reasonable today. I use all of these items...minus the analog synths which I sold both of mine a few months ago because they were collecting dust.

But sound is a good thing to debate with these tools because not everything is created equal. Some say that certain instruments sound better in one Rompler over the next. I think they are all pretty close myself....but I am a gear head so I just buy at least one from all my favorite companies.

no problem.

it kind of pissed me off about the triton rack. Korg is still selling it in attempt to keep up with the fantom xr and motif es racks.....it doesnt compare hardware wise. Like i said, it still uses floppy, no computer interface, and no usb.

for the price of the rack, ( i think its still going for 1200!?) its just not worth the price.

the triton studio is overpriced too when compared to the triton extreme. There a some extra OS featrures on the triton studio, but they are not worth the differance in price 2600 vs 1900. thats 700 bucks plus to get the same sound set as the triton extreme youd have to buy 7 expansion boards at 100 per board. That makes the triton studio cost about 3300. a 1400 dollar differance. The only OS featrues youd gain would be internal harddrive and cdrw, plus 2 tracks of audio. The extreme still supports usb and the studio does not (unless you use a scsi usb adapter) Plus you dont need the internal HD or cdrw because the extreme has a usb connector to support external usb gear. Plus you get the tube. ANd now korg is offering a free moss board with the triton extreme.

anyways, i just thought id break it down for those interested. I sold my triton studio and im gonna get the extreme in a few weeks. Ill be ahead.

Peace and good luck!
