what outboard w/ your 60?

I don't think it's got any more memory than the s950 but it's probably more versatile because of the effects.

it actually doesnt have scsi stock as a rack...i thought it did..still waiting on mine..maybe tomorrow..effects and looping will be nice again..now i need a midi controller..whats the cheapest keyboard that transmits midi???

probably a casio from the thrift store for like $10 would get you by for a while.

Ill sell you a oxygen8 for $45 + shipping. Great condition only used a few times. Not the greatest keys but cheap. Should have copped the keys homie... They feel lovely perfect for hip hop. Not too much weight but not "plastic" feeling. Although the 8 outs standard is a plus.

i might just have to go for the emax to get some keys...ive been minimal for a long time, i kinda want to expand..ive got other group members wanting to get down in the studio so i need more samplers that can be used independently of the 60..so we can all get on different machines and vibe-out at the same time.

That would be a good choice. Get some grimey drums from the emax... they dont go for insane prices which is a plus. Might be a wait finding the keys though i usually see the emaxII more than the I keys

i gotta figure how to format disks on this...


the emax could be nice for sure..i might skip it and go sp12T still..then for midi keys get a synth or w-30..who knows..business is good right now, if it can keep up my studio will be looking better soon enough..

Format disks on the 16+? It shoukd be

Command->System/Midi->Format Disk name it and press enter. Format type would obviously be Ensoniq.

Download the ASR10 manual to get you started. Its a little too in depth than the 16+ but the basic commands are the same...

thanks, couldnt find it in the manual... pdf was hard to index..i havent formatted yet but, i made some sounds to sample into the 60. i keep it clean w/ the gain on the sample-rec., just chop the eps sounds in the 60... the eps sound is nice. theres some depth to the sample editing that i was craving... the effects get pretty deep. so far im impressed. i love delay and reverb..i gotta format some disks tonight. its after midnight and i think imma be uup for awhile...had to come up from the basement for some fresh air and check the forum. thanks for the help Trouble.

all i can say is welcome to the fam... i been usin the asr before i even was blessed with a mpc. ensoniq in general is slept on.

had a go w/ it for a bit..formatted a disk..the effects can get wild as hell..the envelopes can be really dramatic too..im pretty happy right now..ineed to copy the os disk before it craps-out..ive only got one..should i put the os on all mydisks? or just leave the os disk in the eps unless im loading samples??

i had the s950 and hte sound was dope but i think the eps is more what i was after...a little more to sink my teeth into..resonance on those filters would the illest..i like this rack alot, but looking down the road i need a resonanting filter in my life...sherman rack is ill but pricey like fuc!<..i think emax is callin..too bad you dont get eh sp seq w/ the emax...

i gotta get new monitors so i can really enjoy the sound of this thing..

Yo if you're interested i got an original emax keyboard i'd sell you. The only reason I'm getting rid of it is because I have a rack version. But its the Baldwin I.K.E. version. Pm me if you're interested.

I use an MPC 60, S3000, and an EPS 16+(I got the keys, no rack, and it sucks cause I only have the L-R outs) I've been trying to find the output expander on this baby since the first day I got it, and its just so hard to find, I don't think I'll ever get it. The EPS is a great sampler tho, great effects and filters. I use it all the time as my sampler machine, and usually just put the drums in something simular to a S900/950, or a 60 in my case. It works out real nice. 12 bit crunchy drums with a crunch 16 bit sound, its hot. People sleep on the EPS too much, its real ill for $200-$300 bills.
