Using mpc with reason software

anybody using MPC with Reason?  If so I wanted to know how you have your setup connected?  Can you use a midi-controller as well?  thanks.[/color]

yeah i was. i had the mpc and computer go back and forth to each other midi wise. and then i started samplin the sounds 2 mpc. u should do that. that works well. Peace[/color]

Thanks for your reply D rocka.  yeah I want to use the MPC for drums, and use Reason with a Midi Controller keyboard just for the synthisizer, and have all of it controlled by the MPC.  Is this possible?[/color]

Yes my friend it is possible, in fact I have the same setup your talking about.  I Have two midi inputs into reason which I connect to the mpc directly and into a keyboard. I can record midi from the output of the keyboard into the mpc and also directly to the computer (if your keyboard is generous enough to provide two midi outs).  Here's what I do...

First I sync Reason to my mpc via MTC

Then I set my keyboard as the midi record source in the options menu and I put it on Bus A and my mpc on Bus B (incase I want to use the redrum instead of my mpc).  

This works really great for me and even go so far as to save a program as the default file with my keyboard (bus A) controlling the sampler (piano) and the mpc pads (bus B) to the redrum sequencer.  Doing that is also good if you have limited time to get ideas down before their gone.  One mistake that I often make is selecting which channel on the arrange window should be armed to record.  That really sucks especially if what you just played would have been good enough ;P   But anyway I'm sure you could do this just as easily with just one midi input on the computer but I like to take advantage of my two controllers at the same time.

Oh and another thing I forgot to mention I made a *.pgm template file on my mpc that corresponds with the correct midi note pattern to trigger the redrum channels (mpc bank "a" triggers all play channels and banks "b" and "c" the solo and mute functions).  You can also use your mpc pads to control various different things in reason such as the mixer mute buttons.  That way you can have your track mute buttons just the same as on the mpc but with reason ;P

For kicks you could also arm an mpc pad to trigger the record button too.  Whatever your twisted mind can think of Reason and the MPC make a powerful team.[/color]

i am using MPC with REASON as well with a triton le. it very cool to hear how you guys use the MPC with reason. i have never thought of the MPC as being a controller. i usually just use my triton.....
so how do yall set that up. i was kinda confused about the bus a/bus b thing yall were talkin about.

my midi setup is:
mpc out A ---> Reason
mpc out B ---> Triton le
Reason midi out 1---> MPC in 2
Triton LE out ---> MPC in 1

works fine as the triton controls reason and MPC. (ex. Synth 1A for REASON and Synth 1B for triton) but how do you guys get them to work together.
REDRUM from MPC? rex files from the pads??? all the same time playin keys with the triton? sounds ILL. how do yall do it???
