What Discs Do I need...?

I am taking my beats from my MPC 2000XL MCD to a professional studio and tracking them out there to mix them. The MPC's at the studio are an MPC 4000 and a 2000XL (Not the MCD) I figured since my MPC came with a SCSI CD-Rom drive, I can save my files from the MPC to the SCSI CD-Rom, and bring in the whole CD-Rom and hook it up to their 2000XL. My question is what kind of CD will I need to save on this CD-Rom? And is there an easier way for me to do this? Thanks.

Either get an external SCSI card reader, and bring that with you (with your card) and hook it to their XL...

Or, just bring your XL with you.

What Tic said! Taking your MPC to the studio is def the cheapest way. But maybe not feasible...?

You could transfer the files to your computer and burn them from there. But theres' a couple reasons why this might be a bit of hassle. 1, you might not have a card interface for your PC. And 2, your card might be MPC-formatted.

The interface is easy enough if you have a spare $20 or so. If the card you have the files on was formatted on the MPC and you don't have any other cards that you can format, then you might need to fork out again for a small card to use for transfers.

If you have a Sony digital camera, buy a memory stick and you can use the camera to interface with the PC.

Just a quick question...why wont my SCSI CD-Rom hook up to the back of their MPC 2000XL SCSI slot? I thought I would just be able to bring the whole CD_Rom drive and connect it to the back of their MPC. Either way, what type of discs will I need to save with this SCSI CD-Rom?

Giving you the benefit of the doubt here; You need to burn Akai formatted CD-Roms. Your MPC will not read anything else.

That is not true an mpc2000xl reads standard format cd's no need to make akai formatted ones those are needed when you need to read the cdrom on an MPC2000 classic.
