What are some sick studio monitors?

I'm looking for some sick studio monitors in the 300 dollar price range. Anybody know of any? Cause my boy got some monitors but he never knows if his bass is too loud or low. So I wanna make sure I get some nice ones.

The Behringer Truth (BS2031?) monitors are highly regarded as being loud, big bass fairly accurate self-powered speakers. They are on sale at a bunch of places now for $300. www.musiciansfriend.com is one of them.

The bomb speaker are the Mackie HR824s. These are as big sounding, but not as accurate. They could work for you.

DMoney check @ cintiolli's or 8th street music for a good pair of second hand monitors if your cash is low.......but off the back $100.00 bucks aint really gonna land you anything really good......you would be looking again for something better......so like my Pops said......do it right the first time that way you dont have to waste time doing the same thing twice

I've got a set of Samson monitors (can't remember the model number off hand) that I was planning on selling on eBay in the near future. The amp it comes with is 40 watts per channel and you can also add a sub later on. They are in perfect shape and sound really good for the price. I have the box, manual and everything it came with including cables. I'll give them to you for $100 if you're interested. Let me know.

Roland ma 8? Is this what you are asking? If so........you better not they are not what you are looking for........you got a better deal dealing with eightsixteen.........those roland ma 8's are like to hook to your computer they wont give you the truth for what you are doing

See right now ive got some regular computer speakers and hateit cause i cant hear the bass until i burne the beat and my boy plays it in his car i mean dont get me wrong it does the job for now but i can barely hear the deep sub basses,and i live in a apertment so i cant realy have a big azz monitor.i just need sumthin to pump out som bass.nothin to big just sumthin that will do the job..

I use Event TR-8, Alesis Monitor1 Powered and The Whackest 12 buck pair of PC monitors..I also use a Home Stereo....and I do this variation because if my mix sounds good PC speakers it'll sound good any where then I check the Home Stereo for Bass..also when mixing listen to some of your favorite artists mixes and play the CD thru your monitors...then go for that Width and Depth....Clarity etc...keep it simple and dont EQ too much!!!
