OK i did a search but didnt find anything on what i'm lookin for ,
my questions are
1)what is cv/gate?
2)how is it used in music production?
3)how do you hook it up with other cv/gate products(instruments)?
4)if you hook it up with other equipment does it make things easier to use,?
(ie. i have a SBS rack module how will i benifit from this if i hook it to another cv/gate instrument)?

just been tryin to get my super bass station to work for me in the right way and i can't seem to get an idea of the easiest way to hook it up and create my lines with out sampling them.

any help is appreciated thanks

Unless you have other pre-midi gear the cv/gate on your bassstation isn't going to be much use. You need to stick with midi.

Are you getting your MPC to play the bassstation ok?

yeah it works, i'm able to create lines. but i can only run one patch at a time cause it's monophonic, i'm having more problems with the SBS cause i cant save the patches i create on my SBS, i can , but i cant save the filtering and settings that i tweak out,

what do you mean pre midi? i have to find an old keyboard with cv/gate then.?

how do you mean you want to save the filtering and settings?
do you mean record filter sweeps etc. to the mpc?

you should be able to do that with midi.

no i mean when i edit the lines i made in the SBS i can save it to a patch but it only save the line i made not the modified sound i want to comeout when i pull that patch up, i dont want to save anything to the mpc but the patch number so when i pull up the song it's sett already so i can just hit play and the line comes up all the filtering should be saved in the SBS, so all i have to do is tweak it out more on the SBS, not the mpc.

does that make any sence?

i'm not sure i fully understand, but any tweaks you do on the SBS... you should be able to do a midi dump on to the mpc so that all you have to do is press play and all the settings should be restored on the SBS... and then you can just keep on tweaking on the SBS... the mpc will just be like a storing device... i dont know how this midi dumping thing works though..

Why is it that you cant save any settings on the SBS?

i dont know why? thats what i was tryin to figure out , but i was wondering if i used the cv/gate if that would make a difference in the preformance of the SBS. i'm not good at using midi equipment i have had this thing for 1 and a half and i still cant do nothing to get it to work like i want.

i'm tryin to step up on my techno/house productions but it's just not turning out,

how would i dump data? do i set the SBS to send it out to the mpc or set the mpc to receive data from the SBS ? i imagine do both but evrytime i do this i cant tell the difference or cant tell that any happens.

and i know it's hooked up right cause it works from the pads ,i'm able to get it to change sounds on the SBS.

just cant figure out ow to save data to either one.

psitech thanks man i'm going to have to try this and see if it works for me thats more or less what i'm going through my self except i'm dealin with a monophonic module so i can only mess with one sound at atime

damn i got to find another SBS.
