Ehh, this one didn't sit too well with me. Everything started out fine then started to come apart around the 11 second mark.

There was too much going on in this beat, no real melody I could discern. Sounded kind of like a jazz band warming up, so random.

You really gotta strip this one down.

However the programming/sequencing was very solid. This joint has potential but I think your direction was a bit off. I see where you were going with this one but you went a bit too far with it.

I can tell that you have the skills though. This track was just a bit off to me.

thanx for the very useful comment, that's one of the things I need to work on, not making the beat too complex so that it loses its melody.

I'll print out a piece of paper :"Less = More" and I'll hang it in front of my mpc .

everything: the memory upgrade and the scsi/3.10 upgrade. Memory upgrade was a piece of cake. But those little pins on the ROM-chips had me sweatin..very tricky. But when I turned on the mpc and saw the 3.10..it was on! Now all I need to find, is a scsi 25/25M cable to hook up my ZIP100. Even "pimped" the side panels and the buttons of my mpc with the help of some black acryl spraypaint, check it:

I have been talking to Roger lynns support but they are slow as hell to reply. I want to get the OS upgrade but my credit card dont work for some reason so im trying to figure out how to pay them but its taking ages to get a reply.

I see you are in europe too so you had to pay the 80$ shipping costs didnt you?

like what was stated earlier, it gets to be to much. nice intro and outro, has a nice live vibe to it. i think you should add less and change up more. good work though.

It's not bad at all. The kick and snare are nice. The bassline is good, but it goes through all the way. Switch it up a bit. Maybe some quarter note pulse while the drums are kickin in. The flute/horn sample is cool but I would take it out after the intro once the break starts. I would turn the vocal sample a bit higher in the mix. Boost the lows on the kick & bassline a bit & the highs on the flute & vocal samples. That'll give you some a good sonic spectrum. Thanks for sharing your track.

@Dabzznsgva: I don't think the shipping costs were 80$ ; more like 50-60$.
Concerning the upgrade, it's all about personal taste. You can look at the new upgrade features and ask yourself if you need em or not. I find it easier to work with. But it all comes down to what you do with it, my hands and my ears haven't been upgraded
