im getin a straight line instead of a wave form in trim mode when i record a sample what am i doin wrong?

meaning TURN UP THE rec GAIN/VOLUME AND MAKE SURE YOU HAVE WHETEVER YOUR RECORDING PLUGGED INTO AN "RECORD IN" PORT.

Nope... if i don't know how to do sumthin, I usually check the manual.

i know this isn't a serious question but if it is, then you really have to read the manual. it tells you how to properly sample something into the mpc

When your recording are you recording in stereo or mono. If mono make usre the record in is set to mono. Also look at your trim mode on the top right corner set the view to left or right,
