"SCSI READ ERROR"???????

damn i got this after trying to load up a beat (and one of my favorites at that). is this a problem with the zip drive or the actual disk?? is there any way to get around this or am i basically screwed???

Have you tried turning the MPC off and then back on? Again this sounds like one of those I be putting my zips on top of my speaker instances.

yeah i tried that a few times. still "scsi read error"

You know that is a very easy way to figure that part out. I will even help get you started.

1) Find another disk
2) Put this other disk in the drive
3) Load from the MPC
4) If you get same error message then it is the ....
5) If you do not get an error message then it is the ....

"I have only one disk" is NOT an acceptable answer.

the thing is, i loaded other beats on the same disk and they work fine. just this one particular beat is giving me this error.

I had that same problem a couple of weeks ago, fortunately for me though the All songs and Sequences file that was corrupted was a copy.

i've been having this problem all day w/ at least 2 zip disks.

this might not sound like the greatest advice but i just kept restarting the mpc and kept trying to load the disk up. i got it on about the 5th try.

i've only been having problems w/ loading songs/sequences though.

Keep copies of everything, on another ZIP AND Hard drive AND CDRW. I you problem then you always have a back-up.
