I need you advice guys (i've got 2 MPC1K now)

ok to make the story short i received this morning an MPC i ordered 3 month ago that i thought had been stolen in the mail.

the consequence of this is that i have 2 mpc now and i have this dilemna :

i don't know which one to sell:

the one i just recveived is much more "newer" but has stiffer pads, you really have to hit harder to get the sound to come out... is this common to every new or unused MPC to have stiffer pads ? are they likely to get more responsive with time ? or does that mean that those pads are fuqked already ?

any advice would be really appreciated!

Yeah, probably just the pad sensitivity setting.

Even with the sensitivity set to the max, the newest one is much much less responsive, it's day and night.

i'm wondering if new pads are like that or not, anyone knows?

You want us to decide for you? Seemed like your main concern was the "stiffness" of the pads, so yes, we did answer your question pretty much.

well sorry but not really, i was asking is new pads were stiffer and less responsive than used ones basically.

or even better

should i sell the oldest one with the more responsive but older pads or the newest one with the more recent but stiffer pads (providing that they would get more responsive with time and use).

send the stiff pads back

the pads aren't gonna be physically stiffer unless the rubber itself is different. they don't physically loosen up, either - they just eventually go bust.

send back whichever has more wear.

no i wasn't talking about the stiffness of the rubber itself but the responsivness of the pads sorry for the confusion.

on one side i have new but unresponsive pads and on the other side old but responsive pads...wich ones do i keep.

given the pad problems people have, i was tempted to sell the mpc with old pads but the new mpc's ones are so unresponsive (so new or so fuqked?) that i might just sell this ones, unless they do get more responsive with tiime and use.

regardless, dont' sweat the 1k pad issue. it's completely fixeable, and i'm actually working on an upgrade kid myself...kind of a mod for performance pads. i might even implement a double trigger trick...

sell both and get a mpc 2500
