lets get the details down first

u have ur V midi up to the mpc and u are recording a performance either from the pads or keyboard and when ur finish

u want to record ur midi performance direct to track as audio?

or are u tryin to direct record ur live performance straight to track?
By mpvxt Wed Feb 08, 2006 3:35 pm
yup

i have the module not keyboard so the mpc is playin amidi track to which we are direct recording just the digital out of the xt when you hit the dir rec recording button

while im waiting lemme break down the sikness IF it works.

Lets say u own the 1k first os and the v-synth xt sound module.

u find out roland duped u because u can only rec one card at a time and there are 3 different cards inside the xt.

u say man i wish this 1k could record a slaved track of audio/midi from the xt like my protools or sonar!

THEN! i could hit da touchscreen on tha xt and go to the vocalizer card and add some choruses to the next midi track on the 1k to control the AUDIO in the xt!

Sooooo.....ya man who uses tha 1k also says why dont u use tha sample in and trim it and put in on a pad and sequence it!..SIMPLE!

but Mr MPC8000 said hek naw! why cant i just sync the two record into the main screen and BAM! lets got o the D50 card next..next track...vocal card...and so on just like multitrackers should.

ENTER THA MPC2500

The Direct Recording feature will allow you to record a signal from “ROCORD IN” while the sequence is playing back. This
makes it much easier to ensure the sample you record will match the Tempo of the sequence....

BUT THATS NOT ENUF 4 ME......
THIS WAS!!!

If you select YES in the Record event field, the recording
start timing is written as track event in the
sequence.

MEANING YOU PROBABLY JUST HELPED ME ANSWER MY OWN QUESTION!

now i need u to tell me how to correct the start point.

how do YOU do it my dude?

You guys are hilarious going back and forth :D

mpvxt....you found your answer?

The new OS for the 2500 should be here soon for us that have been waiting for almost 5 months...shhit..our warranty period is almost half-up. I think Akai should extend our warranty everytime that put out a bug fix within the first year.

Im guessin you have to set in the sample page the most sensitive threshhold THEN go hit the record in dir rec so when you press play start you should have the sample start on the one thus eleminating the immediate need 4 a multi-countinous track update.

When using direct record to track...is it using up sample time on the 2500. Or is it using hard disk space?

Direct Record is nothing else then sampling, so yes it uses sample time.
