Wtf... americanmusicalsupply.com won't match Alto's price?

I went to their site, tried to do the price match thing, and I get an e-mail back saying:

discounted price, cannot match.

I saw that some people in this forum said American Musical Supply actually did match their price for them and got it for about $1600. The reason why I want to go somewhere else besides Alto, is because I want to do the monthly payment plan.
Anyways, anyone on here that was able to get a price match AND make monthly payments?

they just matched alto's price for me 2 weeks ago.. i called them though...$1688.00

I did it in December, I got it for $1689

when I tried calling them somebody told me they wouldnt do it

but when I took the website route everything went fine

what do they mean discounted? thats the whole point of price matching

It is...but Alto are pricing them extremely low ($1620 shipped). In fact, they are pricing them as low as some dealers in Japan. I have a feeling that if they update the 2500 to fix the problems and add some new features...the price may go up.

damn... i dunno what to do. maybe i should try e-mailing AMS instead of just filling out the price match form. then i'll explain that you guys got those bungholes to do it, so they can't deny me...

I believe most companies will limit this to advertised prices.

^ah, that's what i figured.. that could be what they mean by "cannot match discounted price" or whatever...

fuk it! just return their email and tell them they lost your business and order it from alto.

^I'd buy from Alto but they won't do the monthly payment way... right now for me, it's either:
a. be impatient, do monthly payments from american musical supply and end up paying the full $2000, or
b. be patient, wait till i have $1600, buy from Alto and save $400.

I would be impatient and end of spending $2000 with American Music Supply which is reasonable IF you get them to match VST Service's price of $2006 which includes the CDM-25 drive and 128 MBs of memory and an additional 6 months of warranty.

Press AMS to match the price or just save up. Or, do the payments. I dont know what to tell you really. I was just lucky to have run into the 2500 (I had no idea it existed really) when I did cuz I was just gonna buy the XL. I'm just glad that I did get the 2500, the BEST gear purchase I have EVER made!

I forgot about that package.... and I just ordered the hdm-10 from them yesterday.
For what they have to offer, that would be the smart move. Aside from that, they're friendly and they got their sh!t together.
