Here is my setup:

MPC 2OOOXL midi out (into) M-AUDIO keystation 88 midi in.
M-AUDIO keystation 88 midi out (into) Motif Rack ES midi in.

So far so good and everything is workin perfectly and sounds great!
Now what I want to do and I dont know if it can be done or not (and
how to go about doing it if it can be done) is....
I would like to play preset sound 1 from the motif rack es on track 1
on the mpc and then play preset sound 7 from the motif rack on track
2 on the mpc and so on... I hope this isnt confusing anyone!

I want to know if and how I can play multiple sounds from one specific
sound module at the same time using my mpc 2kxl as the sequencer.

Thanks a million to whoever can come through and help me out.

I'm not gonna front, I'M GOING TO BE A DYCK HERE.....only as to save you humiliation if you ever make it to an actual studio with an engineer and so forth....but

do you guys even research much less actually know what you're getting into when you are buying a piece of equipment???

what do you think an MPC is???
what do you think a Motif Rack is???

I mean truthfully, please tell the board how you came to the conclusion that you needed an MPC and then a Motif Rack if you don't even know what the fukc they do....please tell, I've been wondering about these stories for a minute...

Are Scratch ads that powerful?? Or was it the source??

dude, you're an ****. period. the guy asked a simple question... someone told him search... he did, found the solution... then 17 minutes later, when you had to already read that he found out the answer, and you come in and blast him. why do you feel the need to pick on him... were you picked on in high school or the fat kid? he DIDN'T say he didn't know how to use his MPC or Motif rack...

get your head out of your ass because all you're saying is shit... stupid dick.

I think people always assume its best to work in a certain way all the time. BUT, as long as you make music its all good. Its the result that counts and not the way you get there.

I have the same setup, 2kxl and motif rack es. But dont use it most of the people would, simply because I havent taken the time to learn MIDI and Im satisfied with using it the way I am right now. I dont know how to use it the way he wants to, and I simply dont care for the moment. I record my shit live into cubase instead and I can still make music.... Simple and fun, maby someday I'll learn to hook it up to the mpc and sequence it like that.

But for now I'll just make music....

look at his question again....

I want to know if and how I can play multiple sounds from one specific
sound module at the same time using my mpc 2kxl as the sequencer.

That is telling me he has NO IDEA what he bought....

First he wants to IF and HOW...his rack can play multiple sounds at once...THAT IS TELLING ME HE HAS NO IDEA WHAT HE BOUGHT...

It was just a more detailed version of Lampdog coming in and saying RTFM.....

and if you notice, I already explained I was going to be a dyck about it...

The reason why I said what I said in the manner I said it is because THIS dude is one of the reasons why so many people complain about the state of Hiphop today....Every tom, dick and harry thinks because they seen an MPC in hustle and flow, that they should now get one and be a famous producer...and then we wind up with shit like Laffy Taffy...

but go ahead...be mad at me....I'm just telling it like it is.....[/u][/i][/b]

When you are in MULTI mode you can use and customize kits on the motif to use it as a multi timbral sound module

go into util and look under arps. Assign a channel to arps--SAY MIDI CHANNEL 15. Then when u record on the MPC say bassline midi channel 3 on track 1--YOU MUST HAVE ANOTHER TRACK ENABLED say track 2 and MIDI CHANNEL 15 IS ON. Your arps will automatically be stored on channel 15.

O you also have to activate the arps on the front of the motif--I forgot how--haven't used mine in months. Can u post how to edit and save kits buddy? THanks

YOU ARE MOST WELCOME.

THANKS TO THOSE OF YOU WHO WERE ACTUALLY USEFUL.

A GOOD PART OF THE NEGATIVE RESPONCES COME FROM
KIDS WHO ARE HOME BODIES AND HAVE LITTLE TO NO FRIENDS
(NAMES ON A BUDDY LIST DONT COUNT AS FRIENDS) AND BY
LOOKING AT NUMBER OF POSTS THEY HAVE (IM SURE A GOOD
AMOUNT OF THEM WERE USELESS POSTS) BARELY MAKE IT OUTSIDE
TO SEE THE LIGHT OF DAY. THEY ARE FULL OF RAGE MOST LIKELY
BROUGHT ON BY THEIR CHILDHOOD AND DONT HAVE ANY OTHER
WAY TO VENT SO THEY TAKE IT OUT HERE ONLINE.

TO ALL THE HATERS... I UNDERSTAND AND IT IS NOT YOUR FAULT.

THIS GOES BACK TO THE OLD SAYING "IF YOU HAVE NOTHING NICE
TO SAY....." (I DONT THINK I NEED TO FINISH THAT ONE). WHEN
PEOPLE COME ON FOR HELP IF YOU CANT OFFER THEM HELP THEN WHY
BOTHER TYPING?

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT.

THOUGH I DONT SEE A NEED TO RESPOND TO THIS I AM SURE SOME
OF YOU WILL FEEL THE NEED TO TYPE SOMETHING DUMB ANYWAY AND
I AM UNDERSTANDING TO YOU AND REALIZE THAT YOU CANT HELP IT.

YOU ARE WHO YOU ARE AND IT IS WHAT IT IS.

ONCE AGAIN, THANKS TO THOSE WHO OFFERED USEFUL ADVICE.

You ask a dumb question u get a dumb answere. All you had to do was read your manual would have taken 5 minutes to figure out. You also could have used the search function and actually seen how manytimes I answered this same question. Lazy people like you post this question at least 5 times a day. So stop being lazy and whining like a bytch and ask some intelligent questions. Peace
