My question is; say I forgot to assign a kick, snare, or hat to its own track but I have already created a song by putting all my sounds in a sequence, can I go back and track these sounds out without doing the song over again. I dont have 8 outs on my MPC and I believe you need to have everything tracked seperately before dumping into Protools.

Thanks
Peace

you can do it in edit mode you just copy sounds to different tracks and delete them from the original track where all the sounds were originally

you can move events from one track to the other in the 'step edit' mode... it should give you the option to copy or move events, as well as which track to move it to...

copy the track with the kicks snare on it.

on the copy just delete the kicks and on the original delete the snares.

that's not hard at all? make as many copies as you want and delete the certain instruments you want.
