My broken S900 with my mpc 1000?

Ok, I don't have an mpc 1000 but I'm saving money up right now to get one. I would just like to know if this is a good idea.
I have an akai s900 and the disk drive doesn't work, so I can't save samples at all. What if I sampled into the s900 and used it to filter and such, then just sample that into my mpc 1000 and save it in the 1000 and then make keygroups and programs in the mpc 1000 with those sounds. That way I can still get that s900 sound right?

Yes, that makes sense to me.

The 1k isn't going to magically make the s900 sound 'less crunchy' that's for sure .

when you sample into the mpc 1000, i'm not going to have to set any bpm or anything right, just sample that one-hit from the s900 into the 1000.

What I mean is, I don't have to find the bpm of that one-hit snare so i can properly sample it into the 1000?

Correct, single hits don't really have a bpm, it's only when you have loops with more than one hit strung together that u could talk about bpm.
