Hi everybody!!!
Im kind of new in the hardware world. My sound card has digital spdfi in/out rca type of connector and i´m really confused with the digital conectors that my mpc2000xl has... Can I connect the digital spdfi out of my soundcard (maudio firewire 410) to the digital in of my mpc? What do i have to ask for? single rca to stereo jack conector/cable?
Another curiosity is, i want 2 know if there is a true difference between the sequencer and the groove of the mpc2000 and the mpc3000, i have read something but i want 2 know if somebody have really experience with it.
Another, is the effecs option really worthy for the mpc2000? is better than plugins?
Thanks and sorry for my english
Peace and thanks 4 this great forum

HELL YEAH

YOU'RE FROM SPAIN??? MADRID?? GREAT CITY!!!

QUE PASA AMIGO??

si, you will be able to use the outputs from your soundcard. the mpc has spdif ins/outs with the 8-outputs expansion card...

the 3000 is a different machine, and yes, the "groove" is different. Roger Linn designed the sequencer for the 3000, as the 2000 isn't designed by him.

The 3000 has built-in 8outs and digital in/out...the 2000 you have to buy an extra piece of equipment to do so...

gladly help anybody from madrid...one of the best places i've been on this planet...

not tryin to start any beef here, or get any smartass remarks, but i thought i read somewhere that the swing is pretty much the same on all mpcs. but maybe if u know the diff, u can hollar... i know the sp has a higher pqn or sumthin like that... but it would be cool to know the differences in swing on the mp's

Thanks for the replies!
Yeah, i´m from Madrid, and is not bad here.... :P
Still its not clear for me the digital conection because in my mpc the connections are 2 standards jacks and in my sound car its a rca single connector.... so... do i have to connect it through a single rca to 2 jack cable?... it will work i guess...
thanks

you CAN use an rca cable to connect the digital ins/outs...i think there's a special cable that u can use instead, u'll probably get a clearer signal...
