Midi Dilema

Sorry fellas but i have a question.Before you say it yeah i know midi is data. Here's the situation......I have the 49 keys(midi out) going into my soundcard(midi in) and out from my soundcard(midi out) into the mpc (midi in-1a)What i'm trying to do is use the 49k to control the program of (emulator) sounds which it does.The only problem i have is that i want to record the midi data on the mpc to build/create songs there but,the notes aren't recording.Maybe i'm doing this wrong but i need a little advice.I can use Cubasis Vst to record but i'd rather use the mp.And i do have the channels synced up.Any ideas?

try controller midi out to mpc midi in and then use a mpc midi out then the note u hit on the keys will get recorded into the mp and then the mp will play the sound off the emulator. I have it set up like this. then u can use the keys for sound on the mpc, the emulator and any other modules or what ever u have hooke up to the mpc, and all the midi data will get recorded on the mpc. hopes this makes ssense.

If your soundcard has a MIDI THRU, run it to your second in on the MPC. As usual make sure all channels are set correctly...

That did it,thanks mrnymms.Actually i don't know why i didn't think of that before. I'm usualy on the ball when it comes to connections and cables.

Sick isn't it?Mine came with Cubasis Vst 4 but no manual.Do you know where i can get a copy?

did u look under the help manual ussually there is a online manual it will take u to. If not go on the manufactors website they should have a copy there. Couldn't feel the interface so i uninstalled it.

My production computer isn't online so i can't connect to internet but i think i have it figured out......Forget Cubasis and just use C.E.P.

yeah i make everything on my hardware then i track it out in abelton live. Then i can play with the beat in a more fluid enviroment. On the fly remixing; it really allows for expressive tracking and it has a straight forward interface.
