Hey what up, I just bought my first MPC. It's a 2000XL. I don't have room to bring it to school with me so I am trying to learn as much as possible through the manual while I am away from it. Sorry in advance for posting stuff that maybe already posted.
My questions are all related to learning how the MPC functions. What exactly is a program? Is it just the formate that stores all your presets for stored samples and applied settings like BPM and Velocity ect.
I know what a midi track is but what should I be using when I am orginizing my samples in a track midi or drum? The way I build drums is basicly the same way I do other instraments (IE record a drum sound and assign it to a pad) so what is better to use midi or drum tracks?
Is the Note Number system used just to orginize? I have used a similar set up on reasons NN-XT Sampler but it seems to be more comprehensive because you can set key zones (I guess like 16 variation). Do I just need to assign my samples on different Note Numbers like 60, 61, and 62 for my first 3 samples or is there more I need to know about this function?
Again sorry for reposting stuff that may already be up. If you could help me or point me in the direction of a thread that answers my question I would greatly apreshiate it. I am new to MPC Forum and thanks for your help.
