your studio MIC...

what do you guys use to record vocal?

im going to be having a delta 1010 LT with preamp,i have a mixer with phatom power.

what condenser mic do you guys suggest at a resonable price?

At the moment, I record my vocals with my PC mic. Its not the greatest but it gets the job done ...I would like to get a SHURE KSM series condenser mic, those are pretty ill. They go for about $250-$375 or so

I am using the nady scm 900 right this minute but I to am looking to pick up the shure ksm32 they hit for like 5bills

I record my vocals with an Audio Technica...but when outside cats come into the studio... I break out the old faithful.. Shure SM57. $80 new... and used on the vast majority of underground hip hop albums you hear today. Its not a condenser but, its inexpensive, and it works.... plain and simple. Even if you do step up to something like an Audio Technica 4033... there are always uses for the SM-57. (snares, guitar cabinets, etc..)

I heard once that Michael Jackson recorded all of Thriller on a Shure SM58 (essentially a SM57 with a wind screen). Does anyone know if this is really true?

Audio tech 4040 does the trick...great mic with a very full sounds.

I use the Behrigner B1 condenser mic. I got it for $100 and it does a good job. You'll need phantom power though.

I use the AT-3035 with a mixer with phantom power. I then edit the vocals to my likings and silence the start and end. Very NICE MIC i might say! I love the vocals....$199 us dollars.

AT Mics are great so are RODE and Blue

i use a marshall mxl2003

I use an AKG C 3000-b.
It came highly recommended.
So far , it's lived up to it.
I knew a few people that had one and I liked it.
I think tutor listed one in his set-up before too.
If I'm right , he can probably tell you a lot more about it than I can.

Not quite, his mic of choice is the Shure SM7, it's a condensor and runs around 600$. My mic is an AKG C3000B and I wouldn't recommend it at all, it sounds brittle and way to up front and it just sounds like crapola.

I use a CAD E100 mic. Cost me about $200 at Mars a while back. It sounds decent.
