I dont know why I cant make this work, but ... how do I use the
ASR rack as the sampler and my MPC1000 just as pads (instead of
plugging in a midi-keyboard)?

Why I want to do it is not the question, but I need to know how to
set this up ... I figgured I'd just run a midi chord from mpc midi out
to ASR midi in, but that dont seem to do the trick .. checked manual,
no luck.

So ... have I connected it right and what settings do I need to apply?

Thanks..

Did you select a midi-channel in the main screen (i.e. "A1")? Now, if you hit a pad, it should send a signal to the ASR. Be sure to assign the samples in the ASR to the right notes. Under Program->Notes you can check, which pads sends what note out the midi port. This might help you...

set your ASR up for multi mode 1st if you haven't already. Then you wanna have the set to take midi on channel 1, the default is usually channel 10 on my ASR for some reason.

Yo Bhunt its probaly b/c of the global settinfs. if you change the default to 1 or whatever, and then save the global setting, it should keep it at that.
