What sort of a set-up have you got already mate? the 1000 on it's own or other stuff to go with it. The bloke is an idiot if he is going to swap a Motif es rack for a 1k...that is, if he bought the motif brand new in the first place. If you use a PC with your MPC and have other studio gear you don't need a 2500 and if you have the money, which I assume you do as you have said if you get a 2500 would it be worth swapping the 1k then I would say buy another 1k and with the extra money you saved from not buying a 2500 you can get a decent midi keyboard controller to make use of the ES's deep editing functions. You would be laughing mate and you would have your hardware sequencer back to run a powerful module that is the Motif ES Rack.

Swapping an MPC 1000 and an Motif ES is an even swap in terms of dollar value....it really depends on what you need.

my bad. i didn't even realize what forum i posted this in lampdog. anyways yeah i already have a 1k, a micron, reason 3.0 and fruity loops 6. i've always wanted a motif 6 or rack, but never could afford it. but i been coming up lately and might be able to afford some new shit soon. i might have to cop another 1k on ebay for cheap and trade this guy for his es rack. i just love the motif sounds man. but yeha a 2500 is damn expensive. then later on a triton rack would be nice too. but yeah i am gonna get a mpc from another cat and trade this fool. haha. peace. and my apologies for the wrong forum. peace

Mate how much does the Motif ES rack and MPC1000 cost in the states?

In the U.K (going on digital village prices) the ES racks costs £799,00 and the MPC1000 costs £529.00. That's brand new mind and on ebay.co.uk I have seen the ES racks go for £550-£650 second hand and the MPC1000 go for around £400 - £450 maybe a little more and £500 now and then but I have not seen that much. That is with full RAM and 1 gig card. That was before the new OS dropped though. I got mine for £400 with full RAM and 1 gig card off of ebay.

Are the price difference between the 2 units a lot different in the States bud?

The advertised US prices for the Motif ES is $1099 and the MPC 1000 $999. If you shop around, they will cost you between $800-$999 each.
