Is there anyway for the mpc1k to send aftertouch/pressure info via midi to my synthesizer? I want to be able to send CCs from the mpc to the synth. Right now all I can do is record CC automation from the synth into the mpc and play it back. Any help appreciated.

make sure that whatever synth you're using that you have the velocity and aftertouch settings set to receive. I'm sure that's in your synth's owners manual.

I'm looking for a way to send the pressure info from the MPC to the synth. My synth is setup for it with some extreme settings (i have aftertouch linked to pitch @ 100%) and its not even phasing my sound. velocity is working fine, but i'm wondering if the mpc even sends aftertouch?

ok i searched every where in both the manual for my mpc & the manual for my evolver. i've come to the conclusion that the mpc only sends pressure events as internal modulation but it will record and playback aftertouch from a keyboard. makes sense as the mpc does not send CC's either.

i remember also trying that and finding the same... seemingly no compatibility between the type of aftertouch recognized by the evo and what is sent by the mpc.

i meant to look into this more though.. I believe there is a 'poly aftertouch' as well as a 'channel pressure' and the mpc may be sending one but not the other. when i get a minute i'll try to sort it out definitively by examining all midi sent by the mpc.

you can insert pressure events in the step editor but theres no way to record it directly from the pads. i did a small test by recording a short note-repeat sequence and varying the pressure. when i checked the data in step edit mode, no pressure events were recorded :( if you notice, step edit also has pitchbend/cc/exclusive views as well. unless im seriously misunderstanding something i think the issue is in the mpc and not the synth. i would do a wide assortment of evil deeds to have a pitchbend and modwheel on my mpc.
