Aight I just got the hard drive, installed it and everything. The MPC recognizes that there is a hard drive installed, but my computer doesn't. How am I supposed to get samples into the hard drive. Is the hard drive messed up? I formatted the hard drive, and everything. Also, my computer did say that hard drive is ready to be used down in the bottom right corner so the computer did recognize the hard drive, but now it won't recognize. Any suggestions?

just to be clear, you are stating that your hard drive is installed and formatted in the mpc. the mpc can see it but when connected to the computer via usb (with the usb "connected" being shown ON the mpc) the computer doesn't see it?

are you also saying the computer did see it at one point and now it doesn't?

I was told by stereoroid that you have to use the mousewheel to select the hard drive rather than the CF card in the load/save screens before switching to USB mode (least that's my understanding of what he told me)

Try that?

that is true because the computer can not see both the CF card and the hard drive at the same time.

i mentioned that back before the HDM10 came out that you would have to select which media before your computer can see anything.

Gotcha. I haven't got a drive bay yet so haven't paid much attention to that stuff, was just wondering if dude was flipping the wheel right or not.

It reckognizes it now, but I don't know what I did to get it to. I took the CF Card out of the slot, but I don't know if that is what made it work. thanks for the replies!!! peace

I dont have a hdd installed yet, but from what i remember reading in another thread, what you just did by pulling out the cf card is exactly what you needed to do. load up the hdd and have fun. :D
