Using a sampler as a sound module

Recently I have been looking into getting a sound module; looks like its between a roland 1080 (+ a couple of cards) or a emu, such as mo' phatt.
But I dont have that much cash, and have no opportunity to play with either of the sound sets before buying.
Is there a way I can use my recently bought akai s3000xl as a sound module, using the soundbanks of say a mo'phatt? What would i need to get to do this, and would it be cheaper than buying the actual module?
This may have a very obvious answer, computers, however I dont have the time, money or want to get into that.

You can buy the sampled soundbanks from most popular keyboards and modules on line - the downside is that you dont have the same control over the samples as you would with the respective module or keyboard. Also sampled soundbanks vary widely in quality with some sellers only bothering to sample a single tone (usually middle C) while others give you as much as two samples per octave. multiple samples will best emulate the original material but they do use up more of your sampler memory...
