HD not recognized full 40gb

HD not recognized full 40gb

Sorry, I know this has been discussed, I just couldn't find any references in the search. I've upgraded to 2.1, but my MPC doesn't recognize the rest of the HD. I'm using the standard 40gb maxtor, and it's full now at 1.99GB. Do I have to reformat the drive now that 2.1 is installed? I was under the impression from Sparq that the new OS would automatically recognize the remaining space.

Naw it doesnt, this is a different version than sparks so just ignore that feature, just back up all your files to your computer, reformat and then load em back in. Piece

that was the case with OS 2.0 not 2.1

(Ok I'm confused) So... is it true that 2.1 will recognize the entire disk space on the drive? Thats the one AKAI has for download on their site, right? One more thing, can I buy the HD-10 adapter online, or just from AKAI.

i'm currently backing up my hd so i can format it and do the damn thing to get 40 gbs.

it's good to back up anyway. i've lost too much before.
