interested in MPC2000XL variations (SE's)

was lookin around on the bay and found a few SE's runnin around. has anyone successfully found somewhere that sells just the covers? this one in particular has me droolin..

obviously the looks of the machine arent important, but its kinda fun ya know? haha.

from what i read here...most peeps modify them themselves ..
take em apart get an artist to airbrush some cool GFX ..
make a vinyl template of the original text stick it over your GFX .
im seriously debating undertakin' the task when i upgrade to a card reader

I got the orange 2kxlse2.

I should have bought the black and silver though.

Looks SO futuristic..

There are 3 special editions though, they come like that

Se-3 is the best looking 2kxl

I think the orange one would look so much better if it had the black pads instead of the fruity pebbles pads.
I guess the black pads can always be bought separately.

Fruity Pebbles, lmao.

The white part of the pad glows neon green (think neon racing lights) in the dark. so does the se1 white part of the pad.

I've seen and played with all of them when Guitar Center used to have them on display a few years ago.

The face of the se3 has a slightly flaked surface, it's smooth but you can still tell that there is a small amount of metallic flakes in the paint.

Lamp whats that rack above the mpc? whats it do?

i got the se-3, its cool looking cause its actual crome, not painted on w/ black buttons. forats sending me a black cardreader for it so it will keep looking tight. if it didnt look cool my beats would suck, jk. you cant just get the case cause there were a limited addition, just like how you cant get the le case for the 3000.

ive sent a flurry of emails to every pro shop that works on akai i could find, maybe they got an se in for parts, ya never know!

Lamp, im jealous. i emailed that guy on ebay to see if he would switch, and he said no way of course.

I can't make beats unless it's orange. I'm so used to it. I tried on a regular grey/white 2kxl and I couldn't do it. It felt wierd..
