Picked up the Toshiba MK1032GAX 100GB 5400RPM 16MB cache. After I bought it though I was wonderin how I would ever be able to fill up 100 gigs worth, but I guess it's better to have too much then not enough.

i installed the Toshiba MK4026GAX pre 2.10 and everything was cool. it read the 2 gigs, loaded and saved as expected. i updated to 2.10 and my MP didn't recognize the full 40gb so i formatted the drive and started all over. now it reads the full hard drive but i often get "wrong file" or "file not found" errors when loading from the hd. is my drive bad? advice would be appreciated. thanks

Just got the Toshiba MK-4032GAX, 8MB Cache 40GB and it works (~38000MB). Just had some troubles getting it in the HDM kit, so I can still get the screws in...

Copying 280MB of *.wav to it took about 7 minutes.

IBM Travelstar 6gb. It's an old drive made in '99. I forgot to jot down the model number... but that's not important, since everyone here with a Travelstar hasn't had any problems. Right now I'm transfering samples directly through the USB. Everything seems to function fine. :D

On reading of sparq's success with the Toshiba MK1032GAX 100GB, I went for the same unit. Both the drive and the kit arrived today, and after a bit of a scary installation (my 1000 wouldn't boot with the drive installed at first! hastily removed the drive, booted up ok, then re-installed it), the drive is now formatted (didn't show up in OSX initially, formatted it using the 1000 and then it appeared ok) and running perfectly.

Thanks for the tip-off sparq! my 1000 is super-charged now :D

Hi

I have a mpc 1k with the HD m 10 kit and i have bought a hard drive "fujitsu MHT2040AH 40gB 5400R/min 8 MO " and i haven't formated the disk with my mpc (save menu utilities format) but i have tried connect her to mY powerbook with usb and my computer said that the disc haven't a mac volume.
I have tried to format with the mac's disk utilities and i have received no result; after i tried with a pc and i have no result too .
The mpc recognizes the hard drive but she says on the save menu that there is 0 Mb free space.

Have you an explication or a solution to my probleme.

thanks
