millions have the 2000xl...we have busted one here in the studio.

the MPC 1000 is the next thing to be in a Music Video i think.

ime fed up of all these teenie wannabes watching the MTV Hip Hop cribs, and getting excited to buy the 2000XL (as shown the most).

well...its now time to show off the Lil Blue Box.

the 1000 can do anything the 2000xl can do and can do it better, tighter & faster, and with the aid of a PC or Mac it completely licks the 2000XL.

the Compressor in the 1000 is wicked...clean, punchy, and very hardware like.

So Lou-One, just stick to what you have...and thats a new MPC 1000...a new blue box that is ready for the next generation of RnB and Hip Hop videos.

also i know for sure, that the 1000 has a unique feel to the 2000xl.

its TIGHTER timing...

take my word for it.

take ten people with you and directly compare the xl with the 1000 with same samples and sequences....and the xl will have slight delay lags...but the 1000 never does it.

don't listen to kids like MIKE.

people like me, stashy, aaron bliss, big-slick, and others are giving you the correct advice.

the 1000 it is...

Everybody who posted thanks for the feed back and support. I appreciate it. I did do a lot of research before I decided on the 1000, but no hands on comparing. I live in Canada and their still afraid of the funk in my region, so there is not a lot of people with Hip Hop gear where I live. Actually I am the only one I know who has any gear. Sampling and Hip Hop is still a little taboo here. It's a Rock and Techno Town folks! Our Hip Hop community is almost non-existent so there is not a lot of sharing of knowledge and Hip Hop growth. I think there is only one Hip Hop group here that is doing anything serious for Hip Hop.

Anyways, You all made me feel like I made the right decision, and I do think so now to. So now back to learning this machine. I've been staying up to 5 in the morning since I got it trying to figure it out. I don't know I'm just finding it difficult. I don't know **** about music theory and I don't DJ so I don't have any timing. This is hard ya'll. This is a verifiable INSTRUMENT! I should have took music theory in High School...Oh...would that help out so much right now. Many ideas, many samples, don't know how to get it together. I'm frustrated as ****, but I'm going to stick with it. I love Hip Hop too much to give up. And I haven't been digging for over 5 years to quit with this now. Actually it's been about 7 years I started when I was 18. Sorry ya'll for going on a tangent like that. Stay UP!

And Stashy no problem dude!

The only advice I could give you is ket the bpm's help you. Set up a sequence and lay snares down on eash hit of the bpm and try to build on that sequence. It might help your timing.

millions have the 2000xl...
BECAUSE IT'S STUDIO STANDARD TEN OUTS PLUS IT'GETS
TRACKS LAID DOWN

the MPC 1000 is the next thing to be in a Music Video i think.
KEEP THINKING

ime fed up of all these teenie wannabes watching the MTV Hip Hop cribs, and getting excited to buy the 2000XL (as shown the most).

LET THE TRACK RECORD BE KNOW THE 2000XL GETS THE JOB DONE !!

well...its now time to show off the Lil Blue Box.
LIKE YOU SAID LIL

the 1000 can do anything the 2000xl can do and can do it better, tighter & faster, and with the aid of a PC or Mac it completely licks the 2000XL.

WITH THE AID OF A P.C YOU CAN DO THE SAME AND LOAD SAMPLES WITH A ZIP DISK

the Compressor in the 1000 is wicked...clean, punchy, and very hardware like.

THAT'S WHAT PRO TOOLS CAN DO AND WHATEVER YOUR CHOICE OF RECORDING DEVICES !! RAW IS BETTER MORE OPTIONS

So Lou-One, just stick to what you have...and thats a new MPC 1000...a new blue box that is ready for the next generation of RnB and Hip Hop videos.

THE CHOICE IS YOURS MINES CRASHED THE FIRST DAY, IT'S BACK IN THE STORE BEING RESOLD AT G.C ON 14TH ST N.Y.C

also i know for sure, that the 1000 has a unique feel to the 2000xl.

YEAH IT'S MAD TINY AND IF YOU GOT BIG HANDS TRY BANGING A BEAT WITH OUT HITTING THE WRONG PAD !!

its TIGHTER timing...

IS THAT EASTERN TIMING OR WESTERN

take my word for it.

BECAUSE I NEED SOME ONE TO RELATE TO

take ten people with you and directly compare the xl with the 1000 with same samples and sequences....and the xl will have slight delay lags...but the 1000 never does it.

WHY SO MANY PEOPLE ? JUST USE YOUR EARS AND FEEL THEM BOTH OUT AND THAT'S A STRAIGHT LIE "GOOD SALES PITCH THOUGH"

don't listen to kids like MIKE.

DONT LISTEN TO HIM NEITHER YOU HAVE A MIND OF YOUR OWN DON'T YOU ?

I MADE THE MISTAKE THINKING THE 1000 WAS
BETTER THAN THE 2000TRADED MY JOINT FOR
THE 1000 IT CRASHED THE SAME DAY.
IT'S OKAY FOR TRAVEL LIKE AT MY JOB
I HAVE MY OWN OFFICE.FIGURED I COULD
WHISTLE WHILE I WORK BEING IT'S SMALL
AND PORTABLE BUT IT CRASHED WHILE I
WAS SAMPLING AND ASSIGNING THE SOUNDS TO THE PADS.
SO ALL THAT WORK WAS LOST THAT'S ALL I NEEDED,
A BUGGY BOARD. BELIEVE IT OR NOT WHILE I WAS BUYING
SOME INSULATION FOR MY MONITORS,
SOME ONE ELSE BROUGHT THEIRS BACK TO GUITAR CENTER.
THE THIRD RETURN SINCE 12/24/03 YOU DO THE MATH .
I SEE A FEW PEOPLE ARE NOT HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THEIRS
BUT IN MY HOME STUDIO THE ONLY THING THAT I DONT WANT
WORKING CONSISTANTLY IS MY BLOOD PRESSURE GOING
UP AND DOWN BECAUSE SH@T IS CRASHING .
SO I BOUGHT A BRAND NEW 2000XL AND I AM ONCE
AGAIN A HAPPY MAN SAVE YOUR MONEY,
MORE STUDIOS HAVE THE BIG BOYS FOR A REASON.
THAT'S WHAT'S BEEN BANGING FOR ALL THESE YEARS
AND COUNTLESS PRODUCERS GOT ONE OR TWO AT
HOME FOR PRE PRODUCTION

people like me, stashy, aaron bliss, big-slick, and others are giving you the correct advice.

USE YOUR OWN EARS YOUR OWN HANDS AND MOST IMPORTANTLY YOUR
OWN CASH

the 1000 it is...

YEAH IT'S GOOD TO THROW IN A BOOK BAG AND PLUG IT IN THE BUS OR TRAIN AND MAKE A BEAT IF YOU CAN BEAT OUT ALL THE OTHER 1000 OWNERS FOR A OPEN SOCKET ??

DON'T LIE TO YOURSELF THE 1000 IS OKAY EVERYBODY WANTS TO DEFEND THERE EQUIPMENT. BUT THE 2000XL IS MORE OF A MAN'S MACHINE HOW YOU FIGURE THE 1000 IS TIGHTER ? IF YOU GO TO THE WEB SITE YOU WILL PLAINLY SEE THAT IT WAS MADE IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF ALL THE MPC'S BEFORE IT . IT'S CHEAPER SO MORE PEOPLE CAN AFFORD ONE AND LEARN IT AND EVENTUALLY
GRADUATE TO THE BIG BOYS , IT'S JUST A SIBLING ONE SHOT YOUR DISAPEARING

...
its the man behind the machine not the machine in front of the man, I thought you being a "big time pro" would know this.

I most definitely agree with this.. All MPC's have their own options
but it's the PERSON who creatively makes use of lesser options. Some options from other model MPC's you can mimmick and some you can't..

Cheeezuz, there is not such a thing like a bad MPC, if its the 60s, the 3000, the 2000s, the 4000s, and now their little bro, da 1000.

They each have their own strengths and weaknesses...

If you wanna talk bad about gear, do that with the Roland MV...;)
