Make sure it's really a SCSI drive. There are people on ebay selling so-called SCSI drives when theyre actually Parallel drives. If youre looking to cop one check the site below.

The fuse went on my XL and it was in repair for 3 months because they had to ship the fuse over from Japan (over Xmas period hence the wait).

Now either I was lied to by Akai, or this fella is being lied to...

do I get this right, I must not plug/unplug the scsi cable from my mpc2000 while it's runnin, but I can unplug it from my zip drive without doing any damage to the mpc fuse?

If your not sure be safe and plug/unplug when pwr is off..

Lampdog has already given you the best possible advise. The chance of something blowing is when the MPC is switched on. Y tempt fate? Just make your connections before you switch it on. That wey you dont have to worry about what if's

Just open it up and check if you see a fuse or not.. I know the answer already.
