they are better then the yamaha krk v8's (and the krk v8's are good) because of the anti flutter technology and the titanium tweeter. The krk's don't represent the mids as well , and i have heard krk v8's and the 824's side by side. One complaint some people have is that your ears will suffer from ear fatigue becuase of that titanium tweeter, and this is true if you listen at loud volumes . Nov 05 i paid $1150 tax included out the door for them becuase a friend purchased his 824's w/ mine at the same time. These speakers are great for pop music thats for sure. I also read on the zzsounds review that the mackie people just copied the Genelec Studio Monitors (Active) - 1032AM (about 5 grand) design and it kinda looks like they did. I have also read from one person not from multiple people that when u mix w/ these its ez to turn up the low end too loud, but i haven't found this to be the case.

Also these are my first monitors i had logitech computer speakers w/ a woofer before this. I have also spent time listening to event I was going to go the krk route but i had been stacking my cheddar and was able to purchase the 824's i'm glad i did. I haven't had any regrets about the purchase.

cool thanks for the info, nice to hear some from someone who actually owns a pair! cheap price, over here they're like £1000 ($1744) for a pair!
