Why doesnt it sync?

i recordet 4 tracks, with the same 4 bar loop, and put them into different tracks in cubase...

but when u zoom in, they all dont line up the same. why?

I know its not that big issue, since its like 0,4 miliseconds, but still, if u record like 10 different tracks, and they all dont mach, it sould change the "feel" off the beat.

anyone know?

could yall try to do the same, with ur mpcs? maybe its mine thats ****.

ok is your cubase synced with your mpc? so when you press record in cubase, the mpc plays right? there should be absolutely no reason why it wouldnt match up if the two are synced.

when your done recording the first track, you are going all the way back to the beginning before you record the next track right?

looks like the clips recorded before the ones that dont match are a little different. maybe some of the clips before carried over a bit too far so it knocked your clip back a little? am i making sense?

anyway man i wish i could give u better info. but if the mpc and cubase are synced then that shouldnt be happening

did u record them in separate passes, or did you record them thru the multi outs simultaneously?

Also, 0.4 milliseconds is a very small amount and probably within the error you would expect with any type of midi syncing.

i think it has to do with your soundcards latency. most DAWs have a 'delay compensation' option. i can't record perfect loops from my synths into ableton in realtime because of this, even when setting the delay compensation. its annoying as hell & i've got an echo indigo on my laptop with pretty low latency. you will need to record and edit the sound files yourself. i haven't used cubase in a while but i know its possible within cubase.

yes u can, but because the delay is different each time, u cant get the delay compensation to mach.

its no latency, i recorded from mpc straight into Soundforge

I did it the midi sync way, and it was the same problem.

yea i feel you. computers have their little problems here and there...but i actually dont have a problem syncing the mpc and cubawse. well, not anymore i guess once you get past them, a computer is a tight thing to have...

try syncing the mpc with cubase. i think you may be better off...check that way and see if it does the same thing. of course in cubase you'll have to set up the midi options or whatever but try it out and see. maybe its just soundforge?

Midi is just off like that. I beleive i've heard with certain midi setups, it can fluctuate up to +/- 15ms or so... for critical tracking, I ususally skip the midi and sync my tracks manualy by sequencing in an extra sound at the beginning of every track, then lining em up.

exactly, thats what i did, record to Sf and cut where the first sound sound begins.

so the sync issue sould be in the mpc...

could anyone else try to do the same? i would appriciate it.

Just sync the mpc to Cubase and record it there.
The latency should not be the problem, as it will be the same for each track your record.
I've multitracked in Cubase for many years, and it's always on point even with cheap soundcards or sloppy midi connections.
I promise you if you set it up correct, you will have no problems.
