Hard drive issue

Hi there,

I've put a 100gb hard drive into my mpc1k. I got the same model that Shaq has used.

It shows up on the mpc screen that there's a hard disk there. how do i put stuff onto it from my laptop.

i loaded usb as normal and a little thing popped up about new hardware recognised. but i didn't see any hard drive icons in 'my computer'.

i'm not even getting to see the flash card at the moment, although the usb icon appears in the system tray to show that it's recognised.

any ideas? i've checked the latest electronic manual for the mpc.

it's sparq but it's ok....

now do you have the mpc connected to the computer? meaning, did you go into mode + Load/Save and press the USB tab? if not, that's how you completely connect the mpc to the computer.

If you remove the flash card, your PC will then see the hdd. I'll know more when my hdm10 arrives (sometime today).

I simply recorded a random bit of noise and saved it to hard drive. Then when I USB'd, it showed on the laptop. Sorted.

One related question;

I've copied about 30 folders of wav files onto the hard drive but they dont all seem to be accessible. Cant it handle files?

only files it uses. such as SND, WAV, ALL an PGM also PRJ. what do you want it to read your .doc files too??

what's with the attitude? I stated that the folders had wav files in them. Is it too much to expect a 500 british pounds piece of machinery to handle folders?

Are your files all 16bit 44.1kHz?

Yeah man, they all are.

I have 200+ folders of drum kits on the hard drive.

In the Load options, I choose hard drive.

When I scroll through 'file' I see the folder names.

When I select 'Do It' a loading screen very briefly flashes up and away.

Then when I go into program's 'window' I can only browse through a few sounds. There's lots from the folder missing.
