whasaap!!

Right now I am recording track by track on my computer (doesnt sync perfect) using midi-in computer -->> midi out MPC (MTC on)
So if I arm my track on the pc and press the play button on the MPC it strart recording!

Now I am looking @ some removable media recorders (Fostex Mr-8 etc). These devices only got a midi out on it..is it still possible for me to hook it up to my MPC so that I can track my beats track by track out?

If I'm understanding your post, the reason your pc starts recording is because you have the MPC as the master device. If you want your pc to be the master device, set it up like this: pc (midi out)>mpc (midi in 1 or 2). That way when you hit the record button on your pc, it controls your mpc. As far as using the Fostex, does your mpc has the 8 outs? If so, you can just hook up the 8 outs to the fostex 8 inputs and record each track individually without having to use midi.

thnx..i thought the MPC had to be the master.. I am now setting the computer as master..see if i get some better results..the Fostex has only stereo in!

Nah, the MPC doesn't have to be the master, it's just a matter of preference of which unit you want to be the master. Some use the MPC, some use the pc (like myself, I use Sonar as the master device for all of my equipment). Just make sure whichever way you go, your set-up is setup right.
