Note repeat Problem

I all !
I have a strange problem with my MPC-3000.
When I record a a seq on the MPC with let's say a BD (a 4-4), and use note repeat over it (live) the sound on BD get phased. I have assingned the pad to mono and not poly, so that is not the problem.
Can it be the extra memory i have in my MPC that are messing things up ?

No problem here.

Triggering a sound via note repeat over the top of an existing playing sequence will do this to some extent on ALL MPC models !

There is an initial "button intercept" delay when the NOTE REPEAT/TIMING CORRECT button is pressed when a sequence is running before the NOTE REPEAT function gets fired off at the timing correction rate.

The NOTE/REPEAT function will also in essence, fire off a different voice so as not to cut-off the one that is playing from a sequence already.

Enough when overlapped with an already in sequence event to cause a slight phasing.

Note that if you were in record mode ... and if the NOTE REPEAT/TIMING CORRECT was released after the repeated events were recorded; that everything on the next play pass would be without the phasing effect.

Nothing to do with your extra RAM.

Maybe try editing ( tightening up ) the start point of your samples a little differently ( soft start auto detect at about 1% ) ....

... or note repeat a different kick with slightly differing harmonics to your main driving one so that they don't cancel out.
