EPS 16 & 2kXL

How can the eps 16 be teamed with the MPC. Can the compliment each other or is this a good combo. I found an EPS 16 at a pawn shop for $250 is this a good price and how can I test it before I purchase. Can I take in a floppy disk with wave samples or some other format or does it have internal sounds. What are it's strengths and weaknesses. Hit me wit some info Thanx!

Eps 16 + MPC 2kXL is a perfect combo.
You can use the MPC to drive the EPS via midi. So you get the powerful-easy to use sequencer and the great sampler + FX.
You should go for it, man, the EPS is unique and for $250 you should run right now to the shop. I wish I could found one so cheap.
I have two EPS, one rack version and one keyboard version.
It doesn't have any internal sound. So to test it, you can sample something in it, bring a microphone, power it up. Press the SAMPLE button, one of the 8 intruments button than hit YES, the EPS is sampling than hit YES again, it will ask you to play a key.....Oh, don't forget to swith it on with the OS disk in it.
Make sure it has an SCSI or you'll have to rely only on floppies

Strenghts of the EPS :
Multiple sampling rates / Great FX / Great Sound-Grain / you can really tweak your samples because it is a synthesizer

Weaknesses :
First of all, it's a vintage sampler and ENSONIQ doesn't exist anymore so no support, but you can search the net, you'll find info / It tends to overheat a little bit / You keep it away from dust or it will kill it /
