Mpc1000 and triton le

i know how to play the sound and record them to the mpc form the triton but my problem is when i switch progs on the triton it changes the prog i just lay down i tryed changing the the midi channel on the mpc it didnt do anything. and i dont have the manual for the triton is there something u have to do to the patch to keep it saved on that channel
